Be A Team Player In Sports Costumes

Halloween is just around the corner (well, sort of), and it’s never too early to think ahead about what you might wear for your next Halloween costume party. Athlete costumes for both men and women are easy to come by for many. This is because at some point in time or another, you (or a spouse, child, or sibling) decided to "try" a new sport. Many times you run out to buy all of the equipment and it ends up being used only for a week. Recycle and reuse these items to make the perfect costume. Did dad never use those golf clubs you got him for Fathers Day? A 9 iron is a great golf costume accessory. Or what about that soccer team you "joined"? Those cleats are in your closet somewhere. You don't have to spend a fortune for the perfect sporty look this Halloween. Sports costumes are a fun and easy way to utilize items in your house without breaking the bank for a costume party. Here are a few more excellent athlete costume ideas:

Babe Ruth was a star like few others but in order to even think of even vaguely shining anywhere near his image you will need a cap and at least one bat. He also wore long socks while playing baseball. Perhaps when you put together the makeshift uniform, you can print the words, The Babe, somewhere across it. Just don't get rough with anyone at the party over who's sports costume is better--Perhaps you should bring a plastic bat, just in case.

Are you a girl who doesn't want to be a cheerleader again? Tonya Harding, what can anyone say about dear and dangerous Tonya? An ice-skater with a mean streak and a criminal competitive edge, an athlete costume for her would have to include a skimpy, glittery outfit, ice skates, a lightweight iron pipe and a perpetual hands-on-hips pose and forced smile. Though, we recommend switching to roller blades instead of ice skates as the party is not at an ice rink. If you end up having a few too many drinks, we also recommend that you take the skates off!

If specific personalities for athlete costumes are not your bag, go general and online. There are many athlete costumes already put together that might suit you better. You can consider some of the following: , Classic Womens Cheerleader, Mens Race Car Driver, Halloween Fantasy, Halloween Boxer Girl or the Coach Kit. Athlete costumes require some ingenuity and planning if you are making them on your own. Not everyone has a spouse with a sporty edge so you may not have a hockey stick, golf club or basketball laying around. So why not go the easy way and pick out one online?

The experience could turn out to be a home run, foul ball, slip on the ice or…well…you know. The author commonly writes about costumes and costume accessories for SummitFashions.
